Plant protection is the science of agricultural management that deals with preventing crop losses caused by diseases, pests and weeds. Although there are many measures and products for plant protection that are widely preferred in agriculture today, such applications require specialist knowledge due to the difficulties in choosing among them. Since a large part of plant protection products are chemical substances, their use poses a danger to humans and the environment. Although it is advantageous, focusing on chemical measures in the fight against parasites also brings some risks. Modern plant protection deals with problems such as preventive, administrative, mechanical, chemical, biological and developing new control methods in order to minimize yield loss and at the same time cause the least damage to the environment.Apart from plant protection science control applications, it can be used in landscape and urban areas, industrial and sports objects, irrigation systems and canals, etc. is of great importance and includes applications. In addition, crop protection includes post-harvest storage of agricultural products.The aim of the Plant Protection Program is to provide associate degree education on diseases and pests in agricultural products and their biology and ecology, pesticides and insecticides and their effects on the environment, mechanical, cultural, physical, chemical, biological and integrated warfare methods. It is aimed to meet the technical staff needs of the public and private agriculture sector, to contribute to the solution of the problems caused by plant diseases and pests in organic and traditional plant production and stored products.Title of Graduates and Their Jobs: Graduated students receive the title of Plant Protection Technician.1.
